My grandmother who was my mom's mother, died today from a heart attack she experienced in the hospital. The cause of her heart failure was due to her two replacement arterys collapsing, after a few hours out of surgery. The main goal of the surgical procedure was the safe replacement of her two blocked arterys, however, her death after surgery is a testament that modern medicine has, and will always have, its limitations to practically cure/treat the sick or injured.
She was an understanding, caring, and strong-willed independent woman. She also, before her passing, loved collecting elephant memorabilia, jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. Her religion was Catholicism, but even though I think of myself as an atheist, I'm occasionally drawn, in times of crisis, to the Holy Trinity by my own will. She will be cared for by God, Jesus Christ, and the previously deceased of our family, who will greet her with open arms at Heaven's golden gate!!!!!
(LP)Absolutely awesome. Very nice to read your tribute to your grandmother. Sorry for your loss. She was and is an awesome lady. Believe me because I know her very well myself.
ReplyDelete(Alex) Thank you LP but it was the least I could do for a grandmother who was always there for me. I just can't believe she is really gone since I thought the heart problem was not too serious. My dad's grandfather had three heart attacks! He even received the same surgery as my grandmother! It just goes to show you how complex the body is.
ReplyDeleteAlex,
ReplyDeleteI know how much Memere loved you and your brother. She thought about all her grandchildren each and everyday. Don't ever forget that. She will never really be too far away. Just a thought of her and she will be right by our side guiding us in the special way she always has.
